Mackey Willis joined Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio in 2023 is on both the Housing and Economic Justice teams. During law school, Mackey served as Community Outreach Chair for the Cumberland Public Interest & Community Service Organization and President of Cumberland’s chapter of the American Constitution Society. She also led a team in the Center for Children, Law, and Ethics focused on Surrogacy and Assisted Reproductive Technologies. Mackey received the Public Interest Fellowship Award and interned for Magistrate Judge Stephanie K. Bowman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

“I love being a legal aid attorney because promoting equal access to legal representation is vital to ending poverty and combating discrimination. Income should not be a barrier to justice,” shares Mackey.
